I’m so glad that you are considering counseling for yourself, as a counselor there are so many benefits to getting your own counseling:
- You can experience different therapeutic approaches directly, helping you to grow and develop in your own practice
- Remembering how it is to be in the client’s seat is so beneficial in helping you empathise with the clients who come to see you
- Being a healer in this special role in society is a challenging job and extra support as you process all of the human pain you interact with day-to-day makes a lot of sense
- You are a human being too, and deserving of support with all things unconnected to your work as well
- Most of us find that there is a limit to how far we can get alone when working with our own stuff, the presence and guidance of another can make all the difference
